The Barefoot Movement

The charming, Nashville–based acoustic band The Barefoot Movement was the winner of the 2014 International Bluegrass Music Association's Band of the Year Momentum Award. This band takes listeners back to a simpler time and place, inviting listeners to “sit back, relax, take your shoes off, and stay a while.”

“The Movement” began during the teen years of North Carolina-raised singer-songwriter and old-time fiddler Noah Wall and her high school friend and mandolin player Tommy Norris. Convinced of their musical chemistry and common musical aspirations, they continued to build the band throughout their college years. In 2013, the duo pulled in versatile guitarist and singer Alex Conerly and, more recently, added the talents of upright bass player Katie Blomarz.

Their show is as fun to watch as it is to hear. The smiles on the faces of the band are obvious displays of the joy and excitement they feel when performing the stylistic range from softer songs to more intense musical numbers. You definitely want to join “The Movement.”
