33rd Annual
GREAT RIVER FOLK FESTIVAL
August 22, 23 & 24, 2008

Please plan to join us for the 33rd annual Great River Folk Festival on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus.  This family-friendly event, originally known as the Great River Traditional Music and Crafts Festival, preserves and promotes traditional and contemporary folk culture through music, crafts, dance and food.

Rain or shine, the Fest goes on! In case of rain, most activities move indoors to Cartwright Center. Under the summer sky, or indoors, cozy and dry, our music and dance will entertain and involve you! Bring an umbrella to visit the crafters and food vendors.

The Great River Folk Festival prides itself on providing a diverse musical environment of traditional, contemporary, and ethnic folk music and dance.  Performances, workshops and round robins take place in a relaxed atmosphere that encourages interaction and craft demonstrations provide hands-on participation opportunities.  A variety of traditional crafts such as pottery, basketry, jewelry, fiber art, metal art, and woodcrafts are presented by artisans and are available for sale.  The children's area provides a wide variety of activities that will entertain, educate and spur the imagination. And an array of natural and ethnic foods is available for the tasting.

This year we're proud to present John McCutcheon for the Friday evening opening concert!  To learn more about the weekend's performers and activities, please use the links on the left.
