CRAFT PROSPECTUS  2011
LOCATION: The Great River Folk Festival takes place in the spacious, park-like central
mall on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus, 16th & Vine.
DATES/TIMES FOR CRAFTERS:
Sat., Aug 27, 2010, 10 am-6 pm (Free admission for fest attendees 4-6 pm)
Sun., Aug. 28, 2010, 10 am–5 pm (Free admission for fest attendees 4-5 pm)
ELIGIBILITY: Quality, original, hand-made craft objects, rooted in the folk arts but may
have evolved into contemporary forms.  All items handcrafted by exhibitor.
ENTRY: New crafters-submit 4 slides/photos of pieces (indicate medium, size of work,
name on each); a photo of display, if available; application form and fee; a stamped
self addressed #10 business size envelope.
FEES: Applications must be accompanied by the $50 fee ($60 after May 1). Checks are
payable to GREAT RIVER FOLK FESTIVAL. The fee will be returned if
entry is not accepted.
SELECTION PROCESS: Slides/photos should represent current work similar to what
will be on display.  Selection process is in May and notifications will be sent when
finalized. A maximum of ten crafters in each media will be selected and a total of 40 crafters will be accepted.  Returning exhibitors need not send slides/photos if they have
been accepted within the past two years.
DISPLAY: Participants must provide their own display material and setup. Spaces accommodate up to a 12' by 12' tent. Overnight locked storage is provided in one of the campus buildings.
SALES: All proceeds from sales go to the crafter. All participants are responsible for
collecting and reporting their own sales tax.  You must have a Wisconsin mobile
vendor license.
AWARDS: Cash awards are offered for Best of Show, Outstanding Design,
Crafter’s Choice.
PROGRAM LISTING: Black & white or color photos of the artist and/or work
are requested for use in the program.
FESTIVAL PASSES: The registration fee includes passes for Sat. & Sun. for the
exhibitor and one guest.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Lodging at private homes is available on a limited basis.
NO SMOKING: In consideration of fellow crafters and festival attendees, please refrain
from smoking on site.
PETS: For the safety of pets and others, please leave pets at home.
